Where is the Gala being held?
The gala will take place on San Domenico’s campus in a beautifully-constructed tent on Kesterson Field, surrounded by the redwoods. The evening is fully hosted on campus.
What is the attire?
Rustic Elegance — rooted in warmth, lifted with flair. Think earthy tones, flowing silhouettes & touches of shimmer. Let your creativity soar!
Our celebration will take place under a tent that is partially enclosed. As evening temperatures may shift, we encourage guests to bring a wrap or jacket to remain comfortable throughout the night.
What time does the event begin?
The cocktail reception begins at 5:00 PM. Please allow time for valet parking and arrival so you can enjoy the reception before dinner and the commemorative program begin.
Where should I park?
Complimentary valet parking will be available on campus, with signage to guide you upon arrival. After drop-off, our greeters will be there to welcome you and point you along the path through campus to the tent at Kesterson Field.
Rideshare drop-off and pick-up will take place in a designated area at the front of campus, with signage directing you to the appropriate location. From there, it’s a short walk across campus to the event.
For guests with mobility needs, you are welcome to drop off passengers closer to the venue at the Garden Circle parking lot.
A campus map and additional arrival details will be shared with all guests in advance of the gala.
Will there be wi-fi?
Yes. Guests will have the ability to connect to wifi throughout the event.
Where are the restrooms located?
Restrooms are located just outside the tent in the Aquatic Center Locker Rooms and are easily accessible throughout the evening. Additional restrooms are located on the outside of the Sister Gervaise Valpey Community Center. Staff and volunteers will be available to assist guests as needed.
Can I bring children?
We’re a school — we love children! But this evening is for adults only.
Will there be security?
Yes. Additional security and maintenance staff will be on campus to ensure a safe and welcoming experience for all guests.
What is the 1850 Opportunity Fund?
The 1850 Opportunity Fund is a new fundraising initiative which will be formally launched at this year’s Gala and is designed to expand access, affordability, and opportunity to current and future generations of SD students. Will there be a silent or live auction?
This 175th Anniversary Gala will not include a traditional silent or live auction. Instead, the evening has been thoughtfully reimagined to reflect the historic nature of this milestone year. Our fundraising focus will center on the 1850 Opportunity Fund, supporting access and financial aid for current and future students.
Throughout the evening, guests will encounter meaningful ways to participate, including engraved bricks recognizing gifts of $1,850 or more as part of a new commemorative installation on campus, limited-edition 175th Anniversary artwork, and participation-based opportunities designed to engage the entire community in celebrating generosity together.
